School-aged Children (K thru 5th grades) in this group are transported to Indianola Informal School
Curriculum
The Indianola teachers are committed to providing a home-like atmosphere where your school-age children can have a creative transition from home-to-school and back again.
Our after school program provides school-age children with an active, yet relaxed learning environment. The children have the opportunity to participate in both teacher and child planned activities, eat snack, work on homework, and enjoy time with their friends.
Discipline
The After School Program has three primary rules for our classroom: be safe, be kind, and be respectful. The children need to make personal choices that follow these rules. Teachers will assist the children if they are having a difficult time making choices. If these choices persist then the teachers will be talking to parents and consulting with our director.
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE for all forms of intimidation and bullying. We appreciate your support in helping to reinforce these rules in our classroom.

Nut-Free Zone
NBCC is a nut free zone due to the severity of peanut and tree nut allergies in children. Please be sure to avoid sending products with peanuts, peanut butter and tree nuts even on field trip days.

Classroom Electronics
We do not permit any handheld electronics in the classroom including the use of cell phones while in After School. If there is an emergency, teachers will make contact with parents. We do, however, understand that homework may often be done on school or personal laptops. During their time here laptops may be used for homework but may be checked on for appropriate use.

Information Packet
Our information packet provides all of the necessary material you need to know about our room, whether enrolling a new child or reviewing a room policy.
