Tiger Room

The Tigers are a part time preschool program for children ages 3 years to 5 years old.

The Parent’s Cooperative Preschool (Co-Op) began as parents were looking for a more affordable and parent-involved preschool experience for the children. Under the guidance of our experienced and energetic teachers, Julie Balawajder and Nancy Heink, parents assist in the room on a scheduled basis, bringing to the program new perspectives, skills and interest areas. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

This program requires a parent to volunteer in the room once out of every eight times the child attends. Before you can be in the room as a volunteer, the following requirements must be met:

  • Background Check: Both a BCI and FBI report must be done.
  • Medical Statement
  • Copy of High School Diploma or College Transcripts
  • Non-Conviction Statement
  • Various other Center-issued forms

All Co-Op Parent Volunteer Forms can be found on the Forms page.

Birthday Celebrations

We love celebrating your child's birthday at school. Instead of bringing in a sweet treat, we encourage families to send in a special gift for the child to give to the class on their birthday. They could give their favorite book, puzzle or a special art supply. If your child is really wanting to bring a treat to share, we ask that you send in some fresh fruit or fruit salad. The children enjoy the fruit as much as a sugary treat, and we love learning each child's favorite fruit.

Licensing Policies

All sleep items must be stored in a plastic bag on the cots for sanitary reasons. We recommend a travel size pillow to allow for easy and safe cot storage to adhere to licensing regulations.

Teachers who are on the phone are not counted as in ratio. This means that teachers may not take phone calls or return calls until the entire teaching team is present. Emails and messages left with the office will be returned promptly.

Special occasion treats must be store bought and in their original packaging. We no longer allow homemade treats such as cupcakes, brownies, cookies, etc. for birthdays or other celebrations. Instead, we encourage healthy eating choices. Please see a teacher if you need help thinking of a healthy alternative.
