New Booster Seat Law

The new child safety belt law began Wednesday, October 7, 2009. In short, the new requirements are as follows:

  - Every child under 8 years of age and less than 4’9” in height must ride in a booster seat or other child safety seat

  - Every child aged eight-to-fifteen who is not secured by a child safety seat must be secured by the vehicle’s safety belt.

For our center, that means that every child will need to have a full car seat or booster seat for any transportation, especially field trips.

For details on the new laws and more information about safely securing your child, visit these websites:

www.lsc.state.oh.us/analyses127/ho320-rs-127.pdf for details on Substitute House Bill 320

www.boosterseat.gov for guidelines on buying and using child safety seats

“Bus” Gate got us off

to a Great Start!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday, September 25th. It was our kick off fundraiser towards the purchase of a new bus for the Center. For more information on the licensing regulations that are going to require these new busses by 2013 and to get a look at the type of bus we will be purchasing, visit the website of the licensing agency, http://jfs.ohio.gov/cdc/docs/transportation%20requirements%20publication%206-08.pdf
