A center as multi-faceted as NBCC cannot function without a multitude of very talented people. Our Director, Lori O’Hara, began her experience with NBCC a long time ago as a part-time preschooler herself! In the 1990’s she was a teacher in NBCC’s full-time preschool program for a year and a half, and has been director since 2001. She has a BS degree in early childhood education from OSU and has 20 years of experience in the early childhood field. What she loves most about working with young children is their sense of wonder with the world around them, and how even the most simple thing can amaze them. loriohara@rrohio.com

Christy Deberson is our Assistant Director. She began working here in 2001 as a Star teacher, and became the Assistant Director in 2005. Her degree is in Psychology and she has recently begun taking classes at Columbus State in Early Childhood Education. Christy enjoys watching children grow and learn, but what she enjoys most is what they teach us.

2006-2007 was an award-winning year for NBCC! That year, Judy Golden, one of our Part-time Preschool Program’s teachers, was named the Jo Bostic Preschool Teacher of the Year. 

The 2005-2006 school year was also very exciting for the Center, as one of our toddler teachers, Christy Wilder, was named Jo Bostic Toddler Teacher of the Year; one of our preschool teachers, Suzanne Schwartz, was named Jo Bostic Preschool Teacher of the Year; and Melanie Adams who was one of our Part-Time Preschool Teachers while also teaching Child Development at Columbus State Community College was named as a CSCC Distinguished Teacher of the Year. They are all shining examples of the quality of our superior teaching staff!
